The public is invited to join the DeKalb Police Alliance (DPA) to celebrate the service of the county’s law enforcement officers at the “Hearts for Heroes Ball,” fundraising gala. Individual tickets are $100 each and tables for ten (10) are still available. All registrations must be paid in advance.
Proceeds from the event are primarily to underwrite a supplemental $100,000 life insurance policy for the beneficiaries of DeKalb-based law enforcement officers whose lives are lost in the line of duty.
“We appreciate the unselfish dedication of our sworn officers," says Carolyn Rehling, DPA Board Chair. "However, a broad base of community support is critical to our mission, which is unprecedented in the metropolitan area. We invite the public to join us in support of law enforcement by attending this event.”
At the Hearts for Heroes Ball, guests will enjoy an elegant Valentine’s weekend evening of dining, dancing and a live auction for extraordinary experiences, such as a week’s stay at private mountain and island villas. The first annual “Hero Among Heroes Award” will be presented to an outstanding law enforcement officer, and municipal police departments will recognize other officers for their extraordinary services.
The DPA insurance policy covers full time sworn officers and Marshals from the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, the DeKalb County Police Department and the police departments of Avondale Estates, Chamblee, Clarkston, Decatur, Doraville, Dunwoody, Lithonia, Pine Lake and Stone Mountain.
